I'm not asking anything but are the pads really a big difference between the two, like how hard you have to push and "the BIG 3 extra pads"

I personally had a 500 and I thought the pads were a little too tough. They loosen up after awhile, but whenever I hit the pads I had to hit them so hard it shook the batteries in the 500 and turned it off. Other users on here say they haven't had as many problems, but I took mine back and exchanged for a 1000 and but JJOS1 on it.

I love the 1000 much more. I think the pad response is way better. I also tried changing the sensitivity on both units and the 1000 is even more responsive now. I barely have to tap the 1000 pads now which is nice when you take FULL LEVEL off and really start getting some dynamics.

Hope that helps.

do your self a favor and go for 1000 or more, I'de say 1000 to start 500 i think you have to do more by ear. with the 1000
the screen is bigger so you can use your eyes alittle more, unless you chop on software the 500 is a **** from what I remember. and theres no jj!

1000 is definitely a easier workflow the 500 is more tedious because the screen is so small that you have to go through mad menus... now the good thing about the 500 is that its portable.
