Hey, I just finished customizing my MPC today. I slid off the side panels and popped off the memory card slot border. My amazingly talented friend, Nishan Sothilingam, and I then spray painted the pieces ivory using plastic spray paint. We tried using model paints to paint the design, but found that that acrylic paints worked *much* better. Air brushing the design would probably work better because the acrylic paints leave a textured look. It looks pretty cool with the brush strokes though - it looks like a canvas on the MPC.

Nishan painted the girl, stripes, and letters. It looks great. The left panel has the same blue letters and the two blue stripes.

After it was all done, I sprayed on a few clear matte coats to keep the paint from scratching and the shininess down.

To come up with some design ideas, I took a picture of the mpc and made two layers of it in photoshop to mask out the panel. Then I made layers between the MPC layers and put some desktop backgrounds from http://www.pixelgirlpresents.com and http://www.mandolux.com/ to see how different things would look.

You'll need to mess with some blending options too.. I still have the file (quite large) if anyone wants to try it out.

Here's some designs ideas that I made (note that all artwork is not mine and is copyrighted by someone... check pixelgirlpresents and mandolux for copyright info).

Here's the design ideas that were made:

And for the final design that went on the MPC was all from Nishan's mind. There's another girl on the inside of the panel too that he did as a test first. Both are quite sexy ;)
