please do a search this has been addresed mad times. Swing is used to make the timing correction sound more human by movin the notes to a more syncopated feel. It can be used for anything.

Every time you record a track, the setting that is in the quantise field
is the swing that will be used.... Ie it does not affect the song, just the next track to be recorded.... if you change that setting each time you record a track, each track can have different swing settings... pl.ay around and
see what happens.....
