transfering mpc 1000 programs to the 4000

Is it possible to transfer mpc 1000 programs to the 4000? i tried it by usb from my external hard drive and only the samples worked and programs and seq\songs did not.

does anyone know if you can modify the 1000 programs in any way to make them compatible with the 4000?
