Problems with the MPC1000

Hi everyone. Today I got my mpc1000 with jjos 3.08. But there's one problem. I can hear sounds via the stero out, when I'm in the loading screen and also in during sample slicing. But after asigning the slices to the pads nothing comes outta the speakers, when I hit them. The right program in the main screen is activated. I'm feeling quite despaired. Please help me out guys.

shift + f6. make sure the upper left field is set to ST. actually, was the input thru screen there in that version? i dont remember.

Thx. I just installed the os again. and then it worked
instead i've got another problem I sliced a drumloop, created three tracks for kick, hihat and snare each. But when I play the recorded sequence, the hihat is muted when a kick or snare is played. And when I do a kick and snare trackmute, the hihat isn't muted... so where can I program that sounds/samples from different pads are overlayable? I did'nt found anything bout that in the manuals.

Go to program and hit the params menu. In the top right corner u'll see the word 'MONO". Highlight this field and switch it to 'POLY'.

Hi folks I am new to the forum and I have an issue which I hope someone can help me resolve.
I installed the HDm-10 and 80 gig seagate hardrive into my MPC 1000. The machine recognized the drive the 1st time I turned it on. However I turned off the machine and came back to it later and it would not go pass the start up screen. I removed the hard drive and it worked just fine but once I reconnect the drive the machine does not go pass the start up screen, so I cannot even reformat the disk if I wanted to.
Has anyone encountered this problem before and if so how can I resolve it?.
