FX board for MPC 2000...

I was learning to chop something up last night and I hit a button that I believe said EFX or something...and a picture of a mountain with the sun came up...lol...telling me there wasnt an EFX card??? should I get one...what does that function do?? whats goin on?

It means you don't have an efx card installed. Check the 2kxl manual. it's the same board for both machines. What the board is all about is in that manual.

I just picked one up recently, and it was kind of messed up that they basically LEFT IT OUT of the 2k classic manual...

I am pretty sure it was in an addendum for a later revision. The MPC2k has some 4 manuals.

That's possible. I haven't seen any addendums. I have the 2kXL manual also and its in that so its all good. When you use equipment that is that old and really no longer supported, you learn to use your head and search for things in sometimes obvious, sometimes not so obvious places.

I hear you, alot of people don't, can't or won't bother to find addendums I've seen though. Hard enough for some to even pick up/download the manual, lol.

I have---
2k os1.3 addendum, effects board is detailed in this one.
2k os1.3/1.5 addendum
2k os1.7 addendum

if u gyus can't find them and/or still need them.
