Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Ok... I got it to work fine on my laptop.

I connected the MPC4k to my desktop, installed the drivers, no biggie, it came back with the "Your new equipment is ready to use" msg.

I installed AKsys, lauched it and I get nothing. I check the task mgr (windows xp pro) it shows the aksys.exe . I get an hour glass in the center of the desktop.

I removed it, re-installed it. removed the USB drivers, etc. Acts the same way each time.

Any ideas??? I did a search on this forum and didn't find anything.

Thanks in advance for the help.

An update...

I noticed when I was launching it, my USB external HD light would flash very quickly. I turned it off, rebooted my desktop and with only the MPC4k powered on, AKsys worked.

Don't know what's going but it's progress.

I got a fatal error while loading some files true USB,,, i also had Akaisys crashing twice while trying to edit keygroups.

It also hangs up everytime i load something from my pc. I have a good cable cause it worked with earlier versions.

Akaisy is a peace of shit, there are way to many bugs to fix
