ok..i listened to everyone and bought a centon laptop pc133 256mb chip and put it in my mpc...but now my f**king mpc screen says


MPC 1000 BootBlock ver:1.03
Boot on SODIMM memory check mode
Total memory size : 128 mbytes
check memory.....
pass 1 : failed
the problem was found in memory..
please check memory..

does this mean i have to make my fifth trip to get another f**king chip?? someone help me!

Looks like,

I had the same message with the first ram I put in the MPC (from my old iBook). I traded my 256 stick with a friend who has an iBook and put his ram in the MPC. It has worked great since.

sigh...........the people in circuit city and bestbuy are gonna start thinking im running a scam.. :lol:
im positive i seen a post that said someone used the same exact chip i just bought and it worked for them..i dont know why it wont work for me..but thanks stephen

that should be it. It was the PNY that came in a green package and said "notebook" on the package?

You might to check to see if its properly installed

I'm using a Centon Laptop Pc133 256mb Ram and worked fine, no tests or nothing, Im going to look for my reseat, and tell you the model number.

Sounds like you could have saved yourself alot of time, trouble and frustration if you would have bought Akai's memory

or some memory off Ebay which has been tested to work in the 1000 plus it's considerably cheaper than Akai's

or you can bring your mpc1000 to where you bought the memory and do "trial and error"
