Connecting tha 4000 to a midi keyboard using the usb ports

i was looking at my mp tha other day and i was jus wondering could u hook up a midi keyboard to tha front of the mpc using the usb jacks on the mp. Now i went got keyboard and tried messed with setting etc but nvr got it ot work. Now the keyboard was responding but nothing was happing when pressing tha keys no sampls played etc. i switched from pad to key nothing. so i was jus wondering if this was possable. cuz that would jus take it to tha next level

That ish must've been the bomb if it had you reasoning about hooking up a midi keyboard via the front usb port.

There must still be some of that Christmas blend floating around.

Only da best. but think bout it if u could hook it up that way and be able to control shit. it free's up a port i dont know bout u bout all my midi ports are full. it would be like useing recycle but on ur mp. u get what im saying.

Do you have and are you using a midi interface?

It has been posted already by Clint I think but your usb can power your controller even though you still have to route midi cable to the INT A or INT B. And Dab is on the money concern an extra midi interface.

I haven`t try it. But if you have one try it out. In principle it should work.

Even better, a new updated MPC4K OS from Akai with bug fixes (I have yet to find any bugs in 1.71 but others claim they did) and new drivers that would allow the MPC4000 to support a (name the manufacturer here) computer USB 8 X 8 MIDI interface. That way, you can connect all of your synths (if you have a large setup like me) to your MPC and eliminate the computer sequencer altogether.

Hahahaha. Yeah, I know. I'm just dreaming and it's not gonna happen!!!!
