Where do you get your snares, kicks, hihats, etc from? Do any of you guys buy sounds from Ebay? I was wondering if I should invest in buying a yamaha motif keyboard or just buy sounds from Motif on Ebay? I need new snares/kicks for my mpc 2000xl. Thanks

Sounds from everywhere andy anywhere.

Free sounds available all over the net, whether you like them or not, they are all over the net.
All in your kitchen, around your crib, outside, in the mall, records, cassettes, 8 track cassettes, reel 2 reel, dat
goldfish, turtles, dead kittens, everywhere, it's your choice.

Beta 56 fed 27 feet through the ductwork of the old house, yes it's true

parking garages
bar kitchen
backstage,

ooh, ooh, nintendo nes and atari 2600, commodore 64, apple 2e, the coleco vision if I could get it to boot.....

dude, I'm not even sayin just sound effects. 'drum' samples outta that junk.

One of my sickest kits came out of the ductwork, called it duct-tape

Of course that may be a bit off topic, cause after the sampling takes place, a lot of the time I dump em into the 7K to tweak em.

Dude, I can turn a kick into a rap whistle with that thing, or a rap whistle into a kick

be creative.

Don't use stuff everyone else has on EVERY beat.

Of course I do that sometimes, but the best results come from origional stuff, you'll see

I already flipped the kitchen... sorry man...

That includes a bassline done on the 70's electric can opener.
