sequncer trouble!

I recently just purchased an akai mpc 3000 through ebay and i just received it and everything seems to be working fine, except of course the main feature that i use it for sequencing is experiencing some flaws. it seems like the drum pads are feeling a little sticky but i feel as though that has the least to do with the problem ive been told that i can purchase a new pad sensor, but anyways when i sequence a loop containing drum sounds or tones from a midi module, when the loop plays continuosly very so often notes will mute out and skip at various points of the sequence even though i repeatedly erase the track and program again it will happen, the timing is fine "1/16 note swing :50%but this is one major flaw that i havent experienced with the mpc in the past with the 1000 or the 2000 has this occured to anyone before and if so how can it be repaired?

does this occur with full level engaged?

even with the full level pad setting on it occurs, apart from that notes drop out even when using the midi controller to sequence sounds from the sound module, thats when i came to the conclusion it has to do with the sequencer. the pads dont feel right anyway, ive used a 2000xl, and a 1000 and theres noticable difference so i think im going to replace the pad sensor but that really doesnt have to do with the problem thats occuring, i think there could be something affecting the midi messages that causes the notes to drop out, even after erasing a track and resequencing it it will occur

Your Ram could be f u cked. I believe the 3000 uses the ram for sequencer storage. Maybe you should try different chips before you go for the sensor, or have a good tech look at it, if it isn;t the sensor then you could be stuck with two of them.

Also check the ribbon connectors inside the machine, a loose or corroded one could mess with you like that.

The 3000 uses the same "RAM" section on it's mainboard for sequence and parameter storage work as a 2000/2000XL ... from a comparison point anyway.

This RAM section is known as the "WORK RAM".

Nothing to do with the WAVE RAM/SIMM EXPANSION section for sample loading.

The timing weirdness you're experiencing is most likely due to a default setting error in your 3000's MIDI filtering setup.

INIT all machine parameters and see if the problem goes away.

Also be aware of the fact that 60/3000 machines seperate track types in the MAIN SCREEN sequence pages.

IE: Drum tracks for DRUMS and SEQ tracks for SEQUENCES.

Make certain that you are not by mistake trying to place everyday MIDI messages used for controlling and triggering your external modules on a sequence track that is set for a different event storage type.

i had just sent an e-mail to vst services one of the if not top akai dealers in the ocuntry and one of the guys told me to do what u just said go into "other" menu and initialize parameters back to default, i did and it worked
