Memory

I just got the MPC and I did not upgrade the RAM yet. I am trying to import a 30 second sample from my PC that is WAV form. When I try to slice the sample into pieces I get an "insufficient memory" notice. Why is that...the sample is only 4MB. Do I have to delete what came on the "internal" memory section. I already deleted all files from the FC and have them backed on a ExHD. Please help!!!

you could fre up some space by deleting any factory sounds. see manual for instructions.
but you need to buy more ram. the sooner you do, the happier you'll be.

Some operations need additional memory to the actual sample. And a 30 second sample is pretty damn large already by the way. I guess 4MB with the stock 16MB is already too much to chop.

I see on EBAY I can buy a new 128MB expandable memory for $15 no shipping charge. Is this correct? Every store charges more than $100. Do you think this is a buyer beware kind of thing.

More than likely it is. However, I found one around the hundred dollar mark that might fit your needs.
