os 1.06 simult volume bug

1.assign sample 1 to pad a01 and set sample volume to 80
2.assign sample 2 to pad a02 and set sample volume on pad a02 to 40 (or another low value)
3simult a01 to a02
4 turn on full level
5.hit pad a01 - sample on pad a2 plays at full volume. (pad 2 is louder than the volume setting "40")

bug: simulted pads do not play back at correct volume. sample or mixer level should set the maximum volume when you hit a pad but it does not work.

going to check this again tommorrow before i send it to JJ.

Since installing OS 2xl v. 1.06, my MPC will not transmit tempo via MIDI. However, note on / off and velocity are sent. This is a huge problem as my other samplers (Roland VP9000) require tempo information to sync timestretched samples to.

I have checked all MIDI settings in all my machines and the fault comes back to the MPC. The MPC used to and should send this info automatically. Sadly I switched back to OS1 4.99 and the problem is now global not just for an individual OS.

The same goes for auditioning the end point of a sample in trim. You can't scrub through the end of the sample any more it just plays the start point. This has been mentioned on this forum before but 2Xl has made it a global issue as it is now present in OS1 when I switch back.

This has disabled my MPC and unless it is fixed by JJ or someone tells me that I have been an idiot and forgotten something, I can't use it.

The only thing I haven't tried yet is switching back to an earlier OS1 4.99 before OS1 4.99i. Installing 4.99i and 2xl 1.06 has caused all these problems. Nevertheless, I don't even think I have 4.99 before 4.99i to download any more!

Help, starting to feel ill about installing 2XL on what was a rock solid machine/ OS!

go to program mode

go to OUT tab

move cursor to track nr

change track # by scrolling with the data wheel -> cursor jumps randomly around and changes program for the track or track number

This is definately a bug, but until it's fixed you can still hold the mode button and it changes the track. Not a fix by any means, but at least there is an easy way to work around it...

OS2 v1.22 - Qreal/ grid edit.

BUG, a range cannot be set for delete of events.

setting a range is possible with copy/paste: Copy(F2key) hold and cursor or data wheel movements sets a range.

but when delete is used - a range cannot be set, meaning the extremely slow deleting of many events, one by one.

not gonna happen in XL. the man told me himself.

this is why i'm pushing hard for OS 2 additions: it's all there in OS 2.

OS 2 was abandoned prematurely.

i've just double checked earlier OS for a memory jog to how it used to work, in OS1, "tap tempo"+cursor/<> would select a region to edit (delete, copy, paste).

is there an alternative in OS2? i cant seem to find one - except only in "copy" - holding copy[F2] + cursor movements
spans a region, but only to be copied, i want to get lots of data and delete, its tedious without the former functionality.

i'm sure its a bug, anyone recall if OS2 did it in earlier versions pre 1.22?

LFO still does not work with Patched Phrases,

If LFO is assigned to the filter or pitch of a PP, the LFO doesn't come into effect until :

A. the very last slice (when playback mode=oneshot).
B. the end of a note off (when playback mode=note on).

and this is happening in XL too.

1.08 OSXL for 2500.

Drum Grid Edit. If I create a drum pattern and save this as a pattern (using the VIEW option to import it) then it saves any tune data that I have also applied in grid, even though the 'Pattern Line Edit' screen only displays 'V.', 'S.' and 'D%'

So it seems that even though the 'Tune' option for 'Pattern Line Edit' has now gone, the values are still being reatined, just not visible. Kinda makes me wonder why it was ever removed in the first place.
