how do i sync up my mpc to control pro tools 8 le

i got the midi and stuff connected but i dont know what to do from here,

neither do any of us I am almost certain.... but I guess you want to make music? Little more info please...

! first of all do i have to connect both midi connections into the mpc 2xl?or do i just need to have the midi out connected only?

anyways ok.i got the sync out-midi clock, and i added the mpc to the midi studio setup, i hit the mtc button but i dont know why i cant get them to work together,let alone recognize a time code,i used to be able to do it real easy on adobe audition,but i just cant get it right with the new pro tools,i have an mbox(1) with.

You said you pressed a button in Pro tolls labeled MTC and the MP was in Sync mode Midi clock???

These are 2 different MIDI formats, try switching the MP from Midi Clock to MTC.....

Oh and if you want to record AND playback, you have to have a Midi handshake going on, so both in and out connections must be made.
