External Midi Devices

Every time I press play start on my MPC 5000 all of my external midi sound modules turn up the volume to high and my panning goes to center instead of staying where I turned them to L or R. How do I make that stop?

The MPCs track mixer controls these settings.

Got the same problem with my motif rack xs...

...have you tried to use the digital in/out to feed audio data from the motif rack xs to the MPC 5000? ...and if you have, ...how well does it work?
