have we already forgotten about the linndrum II?

pretty much, because I dont know about you guys... but I only saw a shell of the linndrum2 in a namm video.... so far the linndrum 2 is what we have been thinking the beat thang was for the past week.... not to compare, but the beat thang at least works.

I have been looking forward to the new linn drum, I really hope they sort out the issues and features and give us a taste soon. But I just quit holding my breath.

[quote="mr_debauch" they are being vague on how much ram is stock and what can be added.. O.o
[/quote]

Well, they've indicated that it comes with 256M RAM stock ... there is vagueness about how much it
can be upgraded to, I've seen them indicate 4 times the stock RAM, so whether that's 1G or they
add up differently then I ,we'll see :P

But that doesn't really matter, as they've also indicated that it will stream to and from the 2 SD disks slots. And that it
currently supports 16G SD for 2 x 16G-= 32G of available Sample space. And that they will be upgrading the
drivers to include 32G SD cards, so in "theory" it will support 64G of sample recording or playing time. If those SD disks
are removed, then you are limited by the available RAM...

I don't think I would be giving pre-sale money on it, but if they get it in a Guitar Center, I'll definitely check it out.

This thread is not even two weeks old...how much do you think they could do in two weeks?

I still want to know who builds this thing :(

Did you watch the video of them in the hotel where they quoted a number of forum members? I think this forum has fueled their determination that's all.

Most of what they quoted was from this very thread...

debauch, pound, i see where you're coming from. and its cool that they have it up and running and everything. but still all i've seen of the "thang" (god i hate saying that) is:

-specs
&
-trash talk videos with a buncha guys making wack ass beats

i thank linn for giving us the better half of those 2 things. plus, the linndrum II is gonna be an analog drum machine built by a legendary maker of music technology, not some tonka truck full of 3000 lil jon sounds. can't rush these things.

patience. :D :D

well the linndrum 1 was great during it's era.. it just sounded great compared to a lot of other machines back then... and we are expecting them to pull it off again. I think the fact that it's roger: the guy who has brought us so much is the reason we are wondering why there are so many issues stalling the release.

I am just curious to know what new things beat thang and linn drum 2 will bring to the world (table) that we cant already somehow do with other stuff... what i mean is: what will they pioneer for these new machines.

yo inthemix... aint no one here got time to read that long-ass shit. i skipped your post after 2 lines, after seeing how long it was. best to compress ideas to a paragraph of a couple sentences, otherwise ppl just gonna skim over that shit  its a message board, not history class. and its a thread about beat kangs for f*** sake! aint no place for intelligent talk and conversation in here haha

anyway, regarding looks i always thought the best looking mpcs were the 4000, 2500 and 500 to an extent. the 1000 is but ugly, its like the in-between, awkard size like it wants to be bigger, or wants to be smaller but is neither :)

The one you need to login for? I guess not.

I'm just saying, if they wouldn't have achieved anything by now, they would certainly not have achieved anything within the last two weeks, forum or not.
