Zip drive help please!

Was using my zip with my 3k today and the zip starting making weird clicks b4 it loads a file. then it kept saying files were corrupted but they then loaded fine. sometimes files load, sometimes they don't!

when i tried formatting a new zip, the drive just clicked continuosly and the mpc said formatting could not be completed. seems the zip wont format a new zip at all now. is the drive nearing death? anyone know whats going on? cheers all.

it's the drive, google for click of death. My emax drive just started doing it too, but no corruption yet.

this is too happening with mine. 2 different zip drives . numerous new zips. and its still buggin. i saved a bunch of stuff on zip once.. did some music, tried to save an edited program... zip dont wanna read now.

Check the link. This method worked for me. Hopefully it'll work to you so you can salvage your files. It seems that your drive has the full onset of the problem though.

Thats really good to know....I bought several brand new zip drives dirt cheap last just in case they started to die on me

Here's a program if you can hook your Zip up to your computer under Win95/98/NT. It runs a check on your Zip drive for errors.
