"Sample Mix" in Trim Mode, 2XL

Anyone diggin this new feature? How have you used it?

I was just thinking-- How great of a tool would Sample Mix be if it had a parameter to adjust the offset of the 2 original samples?? This would become one of the fastest tools ever to create new snare samples.

(Of course I'm still praying that JJ will add a sample offset parameter to pad simult, ideally in the same update where he brings back the option for Old Simult Mode)

if you want to offset a simulted sound- insert silence at the beginning of the sample in the trim screen, and move the start point around. if you simult the "late pad" to trigger the "on beat" pad you can use pgm mode in trim to hear what it sounds like while you adjust the start time.

you can also record the main out to re-sample this sound.

yeah mikolo i was all about that way back when. i do the same thing now with poise's "offset" option. you should try the demo, i'm really happy with it - especially because it essentially lifted the polyphony load as all the sudden my drum layers were outsourced.

Yes thanks for the tip nym, ill have to have a look at poise. Personally i cant see myself switching to software any time soon for compositional purposes - i can even live with the new simult- although id prefer it to be different. I use software for the mixing stages - and arrangements are usually refined on the computer too.If i need polyphony, ill record some stuff into cubase and add extras with the mpc.
For chopping samples, retuning hits,alt loops,sample layers and playability- the mpc is still number 1.

Talking software- im really looking forward to the new melodyne, being able to change notes within chords- now that would make me use the computer more in the compositional stages of beat making. Im hoping they'll include a bulk export feature so i can import individual "blobs" into the mpc.
