im not mad at all. and i dont really see any need for me to pick up the new os. the purchase wouldnt be a problem at all. im not exactly hurtin if you know what i mean. and im not a cop. and could care less if jj gets cought on not. but the fact is that this is not his code. he does not own it nor does he have the ability to develope any of it with out the source code. which despite what some people around here might think. he does not own. it doesnt matter if he made it while working for the man or not. or whatever the story is. your beloved akai owns it. i was just curious if anybody around here found it a little strange that the new os is being given away to the 2500 crowd when all you 1k owners have to drop coin to get it. thats it. this is a simple discussion. nothing more. im pretty sure most people around here know my stand on the issue so i dont need to beat it to death.

and for the record. this isnt about me stealing office supplies or chairs or whatever. its about somebody stealing something and then making repeat profits off of it. and the structure of how its been done. i have stolen a pen from the bank before. but i didnt compromise the delivery route and have the shipment of pens sent to my house so i could sell them on ebay. you follow me?

and a simple question to all.
how would you feel about the situation if this was your code? and not akais. what if it was your cd somebody was bootlegging? it would no longer be a case of "hey this guy put in alot of work and deserves to get paid for it".

i think if u steal somebody's copyright, then through serious work - mutate it out of all recognition - its original material in my view, u deserve to reap the rewards for your efforts.

its like that with breakbeats, samples, remixes, covers, if u put JJ into that analogy with musical exploits of the past 20 years, (ie : since samplers were affordable, (sic) the MPC for fkucks sake!), JJ's in my hall of fame for serious creative endeavour.

the reality behind the matrixx is that akai makes alot of profit by selling

mpc s been used with jj os ( very cheap for what it is and the constantwork behind)

and think about mpc1000 users upgrading to the mpc5000.

i only bought the mpc 1000 to use with the jj os.!!

so, everyone is happy, i am using jj os2, very stable, BUGFREE, i ll buy os2xl for use

inthe future.: 15$ that s nothing, i mean really nothing for such an support!!

the final workflow and mpc beeing more synthesizer is 3 times worth the price payed.

free for 2500?? let them be blessed!! they used to wait longer for the jj oss s.

Like I said this is just discussion. I just think its funny the stand some people take. If someone stole your beat and let em spit on it. Sold millions and cut you out of the deal. You would cry. And sue. But why? They took your idea and made it better. Then sold it. But we all know what we would do if that happend.

isnt it more like someone agreeing to pay you for a beat you made, not coming through with the money after they do their lame bit of rapping with it... so then you decide to make it better and release it your self?

i wouldnt think so. because all software devs know going into a project that it is not they're property from the start. do you think he was not paid for the work he did? and under standard terms in an agreement of this nature it is clear that all work is the property of the company and not the developer. these things matter in a business like this.
