hi.I'm confused a little bit as when I chop a sample in the trim menu it doesn't have the same quality as the original sample. what confuses me even more is the fact that in the trim menu i can choose the sample that i have just cut into 16 and it has good quality i turn the wheel for the next sample (which is the chopped part of the sample i've just listened to) and it has worse quality!!!it sonds muffled a little bit. I don't know what's going on. Please help! PEACE

this could be the product of a pitched sample and the interpolation algorithm used to pitch it...

heres how it works: a pitched sample must be fed to the output hardware at a constant 44.1khz sample rate, even though playing said sample at a different speed would apparently increase or decrease the data reassembly rate, making it unequal to 44.1khz. it is the interpolation algorithm's job to build an approximation of data that is being played slower or faster than 44.1khz. this means it has to completely rebuild the wav from a list of numbers. this approximation can be affected by the sample start point or minute changes in pitch or even amplitude.

my guess is one or more of these things is whats causing the sample playback engine to impart some undesirable effects on some clips from the same sample.

i've just realized that when i save a chopped part as a new sample instead of creating a program with chopped samples, it has better quality...seems weird to me also i'm thinking of chopping a sample first and then speedin it up...I don't know I will have to try it. anyway, thank you cause I thought somethin's wrong with my mpc. btw any suggestions how to overcome this problem in future??? or is this just the way it is: when i want to have speeded up samples, they'll have to be of lower quality??PEACE
