I just discovered that my 4k sequences dont play correctly when loaded into 5k- it adds an extra bar,and the bar wont delete.....so i load them into ableton, and play them track by track while synced together.
anyone have any ideas about this?

I did a test a while back for someone who had the same issue.

We found that when the sequence was played on the 5k, it wouldn't detect the velocities and other variations of the sequence. So the sequence sounded weird.

I will try to find that post for you...

The specs indicates the 5K should be able to play SEQ files from the MPC 4000. I don't currently have a 4000 to test this out. But I have tested .mid files from other sequencers which work in the 5K.

But I have to assume that if the MPC 4000s SEQ file has MPC 4K-specific data, it probably won't work as expected in the 5K.

i cant get the 5k to load the seq files correctly at all.
the mid files will play(have to leave quantize off,or they sound totally wrong)-
but they add that 1 bar extra that wont delete-
these are mids originally saved by the 4k to hard drive, then loaded from the same hard drive thru usb
to the 5k (the 4k is gone, but i swapped hard drives when i sold it :)

on a side note, i cant load 1k jj os pgms into 5k correctly, either...tho the seqs are ok-

I`m curious did you transfer midi file 0 or 1. As it seems that midi file 0 is all tracks and midi file 1 is separate tracks. It may make a difference.
