Does anyone have the MPC1000`s mixer being controled by a digital mixer or audio software. Akai says you can like the MPC2000xl I had but I can`t get external mixer control to work on the MPC1000 even by setting it to receive all midi channels. I am using Sonar and their techs say that sonar sends cc7 (volume change) but the MPC1000 does not seem to reconize it.

I seem to remember reading somewhere (I think it was this forum) that you can't do that on the MPC 1000 but can on the 2000XL. The reasoning was so that the 2000XL isn't completely replaced by the 1000.

They want us to upgrade. (upgrade sideways :? )

The video I saw of an AKAI rep demoing the crap song that comes with the unit mentioned "Akai's entry-level MPC 1000".

Edit: I realize you've been talking to the techs or something, I love it if I could use my UC-33 http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAMM03 ... UC-33.html with my MPC 1000

Thanks for the reply guys. Foflex set up your audio/midi software to send out midi messages through the midi port where your mpc1000 is hooked up to your computer and use your controler to control your software. That is how I have my studio set up (Event Easybus+Sonar3.0, Reason, keyboard, softsynths and mpc,) and you are sopposed to be able to control the MPC mixer, play ,stop etc. but the mixer part does not seem to work on the MPC1000 like it did on my MPC2000xl but every thing else I can control.

If only it were that easy, Nuendo has to be the Master MIDI device, you cannot sync it to something external.

Hey see if Nuendo will send midi time code messages out (master) and have the MPC receive it (slave)
