mpc 1k freezing when loading from cf card

everything else is working cool. when i try to load or toggle between save and load it gets stuck.
i tried using a different card thinking the card may be damaged but same thing happens.
Anybody have any ideas?? thanks for the help

My first 1000 I bought at Guitar Center. The CF slot was broken.... That could be it. How old is it? It could be faulty. That is all I can suggest.

it's a few years old already. my friend bought it, never used(i mean never) and gave it to me. i've probably only used it for 20 to 30 tracks. not much really. i mostly use other equipment. i was watching some you tube ish with it so it got me hype on it again but then this started happening. i can still use it i just can't save. Were they able to fix your slot?

remove the card and check for bent/broken pins.

I exchanged it right away, because it was broke out of the box. That is why I asked. I would listen to pounaproblem though. Look for bent pins.

Sometime if the names of the samples are too lkong It can really F things up......What is it 16 or 12 characters long?

16 characters is the limit. but it wont make the machine freeze. it will just not play audio.

Nah , Ive had my machine Go nuts before........Screen glithed out and it displayed a bunch of what looked like code.......This was cause I had a sample loaded that was on the verge of bein named to long after chopin and copying so many times It reached the limit......

But I now see that this has nothin to do with this post.
