How are you all liking this feature? Personally, I thinks it's great having the looping that accessible. I never used to bother turning looping on or off, I would just kind of deal with it how it was, lol.

But I still find it slightly awkward to use for looping specific bars, and then changing it back. But it's definitely much better since they added the "Loop All" option now.

I mostly find it awkward how many cursor button hits it takes to get down to the loop settings. What I'm thinking is this: Remember in OS2 how you can hold down F1 to change Track, and then let go of F1 and the cursor jumps back to the parameter you were at? I think this behavior would be very slick for the Loop parameter.

spot on! that's a great idea!

also, i was used to (realize it now when it's missing...) scroll thru the tracks by F1 in OS2 which was quite nice small detail in the system. although there's couple of more ways to change active track still this was handy from time to time.

Anyone else like the idea in the last part of my first post? I may request to JJ, just looking for outside input whether it makes sense or not. I can't think of any downsides...

Sounds good to me.

Sounds good.

Another really, really cool addition would be if you could set the loop point to a beat or even half beat etc... this way you could set up progressives smaller DJ style loops, and get some really cool effects. In essence it would be another button beside the loop bar button, that would set the loop point to the nearest quantise setting, eg. if quantise is set to 1/16th, it would lock to the nearest 16th note when you hit it.
I'm not holding my breath, but damn it would really rock live.

MO2--

That would be incredible. I would love the ability to stutter/repeat a small section of a sequence! I can't think of a slick way to integrate this feature with OS2XL, so I don't feel comfortable suggesting it to JJ. Any suggestions for a specific layout?? It would be one of those killers features that not many machines can do.

I'll email JJ about the "jump to loop field when holding F1" behavior.

u got me thinking, and while ive been messing around with "audio track/pad locate" features, i got to thinking that the "note repeat" button would systematically suit your requirements in a similar way.

ie: all the locator points saved to the pads #7-16 could be retriggered in a quantized way with the note repeat functions.

if JJ could hotwire them into this operation for Audio tracks (instead of the current situation : they still actually trigger sample pads banks A-D like a normal drum/ midi track).

Arebee-- Yes! Great thinking man. I think this would be a simple way to make the stutter effect! Picture this-- We use the Note Repeat Lock function, hit a couple of well selected locate points, adjust the Note Repeat rate with the F1-F6 buttons... wow... easy and would sound great...

Brilliant!

all this came from within OS2 use, so i'd be furious if JJ added it ti XL, and not OS2, ah i expect if anything comes of it - it would be in XL only.

shucks

but good luck if JJ got it!

Well, we would certainly start by requesting "Note Repeat to Pad Locate" for OS2XL!

(Although, this would seem like an easy feature to trickle down to OS2... Not that anyone is holding their breath for that whole project)

in addition to this - the range of locations extended to use all the pad banks A-D would be top, 46 extra locations phew!!
