well at one point they had the miko's for sale for $2500 on their website... keep checking for promos or what ever.... cause they do happen. (not to mention the mpc2500 was around that price up here in canada a year ago or so)

The MPC 60 launched for $5000 and MPC 3000 launched for $3500. These machines combined, even with their $200 OS upgrades, don't have 1/10th of the features that the Beat Thang delivers. And yes, they also don't have 1/10 of the features that the mpc5000 or mv8000 delivers.

I hate their marketing as much as anyone else, but try to look past that and see the machine for what it is. The grillz and the lights have no part in the music making process and I doubt they get in the way of anything. So, why make a big deal out of it?

A casio SK-1 is for children. People can still add some raw elements to their beats, using that SK-1. I don't see why so many cats are underestimating this device.

Ay Beatkangz, **** a color screen. Can we please get some more knobs and sliders for sample and track parameters?

the feature on the beakings r serious if the mpc 1k had the same feature set pitch wheel and all sounds available from media cards dudes would be nutting in they draws.

the thing that lets the unit down is the grovebox looks but end of the day if it puts out dope sounds and is intutive to use as it looks shit should be a winner it will certainly see off the sp range.

but i think korg need to come with an esx-2 that has better pad layout, wave form edit screen and that allows quantise to be turned off with the same build quality then they will kill the market.

But the MPC 60, MPC 3000, MPC 5000 and MV series at Roland are done and they work.

This beat thang is not even living up to its specs yet... All they have showed us is a crappy looking machine that operates like a drum machine/ groovebox.

Wheres the sampling and chopping features? Wheres the colored screen? Show me the SD cards working? Show me the FX... Show me the input with Fantom power...

All you have seen is a plastic hollow demo and a dude saying what they wish the machine can have/ do. Please.... :lol:

they showed the colour screen and it was not hollow or else they would not have been able to make a beat with it.

they should though (you're right) show us the sampling/chopping.

they were also released like 20 years ago lol. theres a thing called technology advancement, you may have heard of it :)

yeah all computer chips and computers were that expensive back then...

in the early 80's an IBM 16 mHz costed like 7 grand or more..


Check out this old 80's show... When I watched this it made me wish I had a time machine so I could bring back stuff... watch it untill they talk about suggested retail price.

Ten times the features @ 1/4th the price. If that ain't "advancing technologies", I don't know what is.

I ain't gonna lie, though.The MPC5k looks better to me than this joint. I still wanna see what features are secret.
