LFO Speed (not) adjustable in OS2?

Hi there, in the programm section there is the LFO page. Waveform, rate and destination (filter, pitch, level) are selectable. But the rate is unbelievable slow. Even with an lfo speed at 99.00 I can watch clouds move faster than the sound.
I even dare to say I can hardly hear any difference between fastest and slowest LFO rate settings.

Is there another menue where I set the rate or is it a bug?

I found the answer: Rate has to be under 1 to move fast. So the speed is vice versa. The lower the rate value, the faster the LFO speed.

the rate value is actually a measure of the beats,
so 1:00 is one beat, 0:48 is half a beat, 0:24 u guessed it - quarter beat, so ie: 0:12= a 16th tick. 0:72 is 3/4 beat.

4:00 is one bar etc....


yup the mugs at akai had me too, thinking that the high number is the faster rate until i realised their based on the tempo/beats

yeah ive wanted that for ages, but hey its a note on based lfo, no free run, until then theres a sense of no point - cos it wouldnt be as hot as it should.

i saw u can adjust the GPE params with the qlink in os2xl is this recordable? (ie lfo rate)

haha dream on.

if JJ brought recordable GPE param tweaks to OS 2XL i would switch over to XL and never look back.

one mad thing about the lfo's is that they speed up while you speed up the tempo, without having to re-trigger the note. Its a shame that you dont have this ability to alter the lfo rate when the note is playing to a static tempo. although you can resample if you want create one shot fx in this way.

Yeah i me too.

There's stupid workaround; You can control LFO speed by assigning tempo to q-link.

That's some clever lateral thinking. You could then resample that, and you have something workable.

yep thats a classic - been doing this since early 1k times, since u can sample the main outs, if u can do it manually, its there for the taking.

but its not perfect, cos for me its about the free nature of an lfo, to sample it in a way defeats the object of the fluidity. butits awesome for mashing things up.

try twunting the tempo with qlink2, while pitching a patched phrase break on qlink1, check it out.....especially through some heavy low end reverb. (with the lfo on a lowpass). sheesh these mpc's may be simple, but the'yre naughty!
