I don't know why ya'll are lying like you can sample anything. Everyone who's really down knows you can only sample the part of the song that is in between 3:15 and 4:75. If the song is shorter than 3 minutes you are not allowed to sample it. If the song is over 4:75 you are only allowed to interpolate the sample. These are the breaks kids! Sorry!

yo, I suggest you research what sampling is... And then you could have an idea of what to look for... I sample parts of the song I am feeling then I make sure its a perfect loop then I chop it up into whatever pieces from 16 to 64 pads depending on your preference. Then look for a different way to play it out. Now that is when your creativity should take place... Practice makes perfect. Now you could sample lots of different components of the beat like drum hits and vocals basically anything you think you could incorporate into the beat you are making.

What if dude is just sampling blips, and he takes your advice and chops a blip into 16 parts and gets that annoying screeching sound, and makes a beat with it, and it becomes a hit, than we can all be annoyed to hell and we would all have to blame you for the advice.

Don't chop so small that you loose the decay! By all means chop at the start of each hit, but carry the tail over onto the next one and use the decay of your envelope to even it out.

Thanks, its nice to see this thread finally getting somewhere other than the odd hater slaggin' it off. i've took some amazing samples today! i started off with a simple 2 bar loop with all the instruments in. cut that in half to make a new loop then cut that in half again then played them as loops to create a build up it was awesome. still a little rough round the edges though. is it possible to reverse loops on the mpc? i spose i could just do it in audacity, probably much easier!

if you get the part you sampled to loop perfectly, then once you chop it then it should be alright.

Sampling is all about preference.
