I found chopping on mpc a bit hard at the begining, but now i got used to it, I simply take a piece of paper, a pen and do my notes. 1zone 0 - 35000, note it down, go to zn edit, highlight it again , EDIT- new sample - sound000z- DO IT and so on and so on. done.
I tried to do my chops in Cool Edit, it is easer, true, but if I do something I prefer doing it on one machine, no 2, or 5 or 10..
Anyway, as I bought my MPC2000 something like 4 months ago I never had an urge to go to manual even I had one, and actually printed it 2 days ago.
All the things I learned during this period I learned myself, using my head and any questions that I actually asked were actually technical/hardware questions.
I have to say that it is not my first instrument that I am using, I also have an RM1X and an EMu Esi-32, which both propably helped me a lot learning ( it was my budget mpc - with an MPD24 added
).
Summary? It is really user friendly, made me happy as hell. I always wanted to have this machine I got it and I am proud of my baby.
Simply, I love it and would never get rid of.
