MPC!!!!

I tryed FL and Reason when I started. It just didn't work for me. I read an inteview with Premier where he talks about the mpc and playing his drums with no quantize, for a little bit of swing. That sounded really appealing to me, playing ur stuff in real time. Once I tryed an mpc it was ON....

go w the computer. the mpc option makes no sense. you can do everyhting you can do on an mpc w a computer + you can do more. these ngas just sayin take the mpc cuz its an mpc forum but in reality the software route is better. you can play everything in with the mpd, and no its not a human destroyer, you can still offset notes and also record in w no quantize.

I ain't trying to hate dude... but I heard your beats and they sound like they were made on a computer. Not in a bad way. But you can tell the difference. I don't think the computer can emulate the MPC. Not to mention it is all personal preference, but honestly software gets outdated too fast, and MIDI controllers break all the time. I dont want to spend $1000-$2000 a year updating and fixing my shit when I can pay $1000 and have an MPC.

It depends on what you already have. If you already have a pc that you use for your daily task (school, work, pictures, etc.) then I would say got for the MPC. But if not I would get the pc set up. It could serve you for lot more than just beatmaking.

Like a few others said, go wth both. Having both gives you more leverage to your production skills.

I used to enjoy making music 10 times more when it was just me and my 2kxl, but since I transfered to Cubase and VSTs my tracks sound 10 times better! It all depends on what motivates you most... The process or end result? I just know that without first owning an MP I wouldn't be half as good a producer as I now consider myself to be, so maybe there's your answer... get the musical instrument first.
