+1. Even if they fail I have much respect for what they have done so far and getting this far to where even we consider talking about the product.

i agree with the dude that said we need more competition. if anything, we should be thankful that a new competitor has come out... instead of complaining how shit they are. having more products in the market can only mean good things for customers (lower prices, companies competing & thus improving their products to gain customers etc. etc.)

thats probably why akai has been so slack, cos they have for the most part had a monopoly on the drum machine/sampler category. the more rolands, beat kangz, sp's the better. it forces companies to step their game up and drop their prices

Exactly, even if this doesn't work out maybe the other companies will be like "Oh shit, they are coming for us we need to start treating our customers better" I would even consider buying one of these just to make Akai get off their asses. LOL.

The right ingenuity put into this thing it could turn out to be something useful... I'd say right now tho it looks like it's geared toward these kids who just want to make weezy jeezy garbage type beats... the commercial is mad corny & over the top... the lights flashing all over it is basic cosmetics & probably serves no real purpose other than to jack up the price & looks kinda gay anyway... Not tryin to hate but, well, I hate it so far,lol How dare you call that a MPC killa? lol ... not by a long shot

I will say it looking like a toy means nothing though.... Circuit benders anyone?
People actually take real toys and make them functional instruments....
I don't think the cosmetic is very good, but I think the same thing about my SP404 and I love that thing....

Good Point! Like I said tho w/ the right ingenuity this thing could be useful

This was kind of said earlier, but if someone really dope picked one of these up the question is... "could they make dope beats?" Could Dilla make dope beats on it? Could Madlib? Could Shadow? Could (insert name here)?

.... that changes the view on it. I personally love the MPC as my weapon of choice, but I bet you could still craft some hot ass beats on this. I mean.... if you can make hot beats with a bathtub and a spoon then you can with anything...

Or a kitchen sink... Here is one of my favourite artists doing just that...

All samples almost are from his kitchen sink:

The video is some random video over it.. it is not his video for the song.

Exactly. See you could give that guy any beat machine including the one in this thread and he would probably make some creative ish. Just goes to show you that basically it isn't the machine its the person.... as always stated.

So.... here is the real question. Even if this thing bombs and it sucks who will cop one and make a dope beat on it with me? Hahaha.

Actually, the Kangs have popped in here a few times and basically said they will bend over backwards for the users, so maybe we can blag a free one each to produce some quality shit! :D

Are you listening out there???

but its NOT out, as of now its simply marketing hype behind some vaporware

and even IF it does there is no guarantee it will be sold in a sales channel where it has the ability to even compete with the likes of AKAI/MOTU/NI/Roland
