Come on in and recommend a synthesizer/keyboard!

^^^^ My productivity has increased enormously since moving onto an all software set-up though. Workflow is so slick - don't need to worry about saving samples, saving patches on my outboard gear, synching everything up, etc. The one downside is that soft synths lack a certain something that you get from a hardware synth.

you can play chords with a little phatty you would just have to buy two or more little phattys and chain them together to add polyphony which would cost an arm and a leg but it can be done

Man that is so weird. It is the complete opposite for me. I mean... to each their own for sure...
I do agree software synths are lacking heavily. When I switched I was blown away by the difference....

Korg R3 which has excellent editing suite.
