I have no problem in sequencing sp1200(as a sound module) with mpc3000 (as a sequencer)
except one thing.. I can't get to sequence multi pitched samples on sp1200 with mpc.. those multi pitched samples are not triggered with mpc's pads..
Is there any sp1200/mpc3000 or 60 combo users who can help me out?

yes you need to check a function in the sp1200 and enable the midi for the miltipitch

don't have here the baby so i can't tell you where exactly but the manual should response to your question... under midi menu i think to remember...

and read it...

of course I turned on pitch keys function in midi parameters page in sp
I've read sp's manual thoroughly but seems not working what I want to achieve

I've never been able to do this either and usually end up copying the sound to a different SP1200 pad and adjusting the parameters manually. Hopefully you have enough spare pads, thats the only issue.

I'm interested to hear if there is a way to trigger multipitch with an external sequencer but i am doubtful.

MR Macks of the SP Forum said this:

"Try holding down the key on the MPC that you want to pitch, then while keeping it held down pressing the 'pitch keys'. I kind of got it working that way messing around using a 2000xl the other week."

Same problem with my 60 triggering the XL. While 16 levels velocity works fine, note-variation isn't working. I have to assign the pitched sounds to different pads in the XL in order to work.

i can confirm midi into the sp1200 from controller doesn't let me play the multipicth sample....

it seems a bug or maybe we are missing something

Yes I tried that too. But the 16 Level tuning seem to have nothing to do with the MIDI NOTE NUMBER. The Sampler Section also dont receive PitchBend (my first thought when I saw the tuning parameter in step edit mode). Its Akai special shit :(
The only way I can thing of getting around this is the note variation slider. It no big deal to control the note variation slider with a control change message (for example the modwheel of a keyboard: Controler Number = 1)

Now who want to use the Modwheel? We're talking bout the KEYS. Ok. Thats probably possible with a Input Transformer that take the incomming MIDI Note Numbers, transform them to specified Controller Values and send them to the MPC. Thats a lot of work to do for just be able to play the sample in different tunings with a keyyboard. So its nothing for me.

yes but it's strage cause the manual talk about controlling the multipicth trough notes G#3 - B4
probably the sp1200 will transmit midi out to that range when in multipicth and don't receive midi in
later i'll check
