sampling while playback

How can I sample a new sound while sequencer is playing back? Or if it's not possible at least to hear the base what I play on in the right tempo and record in the same time..
I can access the sampling platform only when the sequencer stops. It's quite sux when I'd like to play on..

you cant do it. BUT there are workarounds. such as...record into ur computer...orrrrr...use a metronome while sampling. put it to the same bpm as your beat then go to sample and record to the metronome.

It's quite a stupid thing.. Why did they restrict it?! Even my weak SP808 could do it..
Anyway I think I have to record the dubbing sequence to my Mac, playback from there, and record on mpc while listenig to the Mac

wouoldnt sampling into the 808 be easier?

nope cos I've sell it long timago.. itsa crap with its RCA samplin..

I say newer MPCs can sample while playin..
N I was just a bit unhappy about akai didnt think bout'it.
Or they could update the firmware if it's not a hardware limitation.

true, but it is a nice function to have especially if you've been doing old school style for a long time, but yeah i agree...

fung: yea, but it's essential to hear what you play on if you wanna sample real instruments runtime. anyway.. in real cases, you dont play on any bpm.. you play on a unique groove to have the flexibility for modify your idea and creativity.. but thanks for your advice
