I believe it has a built in preamp, but would I still want to know should I consider a mixer or can I just plug the line outs of the turntable to the MPC directly? Help plz.

It has a pre already built it, what would be the point of the mixer?

Point of the mixer = More control over the EQ's before it hits the MPC. It's amazing what you can boost or remove from records with a good mixer like a TTM-56. It'll boost or cut far better than the MPC can.

Get a real EQ and you'll be able to do far more for the same price or less.
