Okay so you have your sample displayed on the screen.

Hit the slice button on one of those ''F'' keys. It then slices the sample in 16 pieces of sh1t. Okay now move your curser over the number 16 at the very top of your screen. Now heres the magic part!!! Turn the DATA wheel and it changes the number of samples.

Dont be scared to explore your machine...
Good luck.

thats a "huge lift"

I sample stuff that is 30 seconds long and take little tiny pieces.... but I usually chop different sections of the song in 4-8 bar chunks.... chop it.... take a couple samples that I like from each section

I chop it all just to test out different parts of the sample. Nothing wrong with that. Just because you sample that much doesn't mean you use it all.

Also, the autochop problem..... I believe you can only autochop a certain amount. It might take a lot of memory to autochop so even with 128 RAM you might not be able to autochop anything over a certain amount....

Also don't autochop.

I know 30 seconds is alot but damn aint no reason to jump on the dude...

Just let him do wat he does. I know some people do multiples samples at a time and take pieces out of one big chunk and theres also cats out there that sample one piece by piece into little sections.

Do watever works for you... I usually sample by 4 to 8 bars and chop those pieces up.
