Hi Everyone,

Stephen informed me of this thread (if you noticed my shamless plug earlier), and I thought I'd reply to these requests. My name is Nishan, and I painted the panels, along with Stephen.

I would love to customize all your MPC side panels, and frankly, anything else you have that could be customizable. Unfortunetly I have no idea how to go about doing this (pay rates, shipping, etc).
Working on this different surface is a bit new, so I'm getting used to it.

So all in all, Stephen and I figure you would send me the panels (or we could order a bunch, take requests, etc), with your idea of the design (or let me go wild on it), get them sent back to you, and tada. Customized inspiration.

I'm looking into case modding too, but not in the traditional sense. No fancy lights or jet engine turbines in the comp, just awesome art paintings on cases.

Let me know if you guys have any other ideas on how we could get this started and work together!

well if your interested in doing this then you should contact Akai and see how much the side panels are (i think someone said in this forum they are like $16) and you order a few sets of them (so people wont have to send you their mpc) and then you can use pay pal for payments ... how much u charge is up to u ...

That's what I was thinking as well. I'd hate for someone to have to send their panels back and forth. Reducing shipping and handling pains is a big issue.

Yeah, I believe Stephen said the panels were about the same price.

People can order there own panels and send them to you, You decide how much the supplies and your time is worth!

hey nishan this might seem a little plain but can you just turn the colour scheme from blue and red to just plain black!! (maybe wid grey trim) if so let me know how this is gonna cost me if ever they update the mpc1000 to an xl 01 with among other things usb audio/midi interfacing and hard running rechargeable battery like mini camcoders and software updates to bring it more in line as a replacement for the 2000xl
but in the mean time a black custom update would be cool

Black would be cool, but all I'm doing now is modding the side panels. I'm currently checking in to see if another fellah here wants his modded. If that goes well i'll post some pics on here.

i might have to jack that idea and try to spray my mpc black that would be sick

That muddaFugga is tight, Iwill of course post pictures when its done, but.. I had started to fabricate a slightly modified Case-housing for an Mpc 2000xl a few months back. wood @ steel. A freind thinks he can put a much larger display on the 1000, but it would of course require more space..(and more power..but he swears he's got that worked out)
and I both have issues when it comes to [finishing} stuff like this... I'll post picas of my chassis when the powder coat gets done.

your only problem will be selling it in the future ( that is if you would ever want to, or need to)
