i got an MPC from a local store, they claim its new, but it dont look new, the memory card was in the slot, and not in the styrofoam holder, the instructions had no plastic, and the MPC didn't have any plastic over it (just that little plastic/styrofoam sheet). the box wasn't packaged either.

can someone who got a brandnew one tell me if there was anything special, liek plastic covering the MPC, or sulfer in the packageing, or those little plastic/rubber protective pieces that go over screens, like when you get a new cell fone. any help appreaciated

i aint tryign to sounds liek a littte b*tch, but i had a weird feeling about it

If it looks like it has been unpacked, they might have just done that in the store. Still, unless you paid less than full price, demand they give you a new one. Mine looked like it had been used once or twice, but I paid 700 for mine... and they still claimed it was new.. bunch of asshats. The customer is always right....

You have to watch that, because what some stores will do is they will run out of mpc's in stock and sell the one they have on display at full price!..

i would MOST DEFENITELY RETURN IT!

that shi t happened to me once with an mpc 2000

if you payed full price, demand a new one, my mpc 1000 looked like the cell phone you described above, with all the plastics and bags, cf card was in it's case and all that, so don't get strong armed by these music store bit ches......

i bought my mpc 1000 used too... Well it was the display piece... but i got it for $700. Also the guy that works at the store tested everything for me and i got a 1 yeart guarantee that if anything goes wrong they will give me a brand new one.

no i didn't have a problem with a used one, but a used one trying to be sold to me as new

anyways, i went it today for a refund, couldn't do it, so i kept the 1000 and they took 140$ off the price. they admitted it was used trying to be sold as new, thats all i needed to know.

If I remember correctly, there was some plastic over the screen to protect it. There's been so much **** up things with the new ones (some don't sit right, the uneven pad response etc..) that people definately check them or bring them back if they don't like them.

or pay off my MPC debt... hahahah
soon i;ll get it, soon

actually im using my computer alot, and i only have one project at a time on the MPC. so when im done with one or want to start a new one, or whatever, i just move the folder to the computer.

the way i look at it, 32 MB is plenty for one track at a time

im lovin the USB connection, the fact its simple and easy

i may look into it soon though

the same thing happened to me and I exchanged it for a new one. The difference was, the memory card was in plastic, the manuals were in the plastic, and the mpc was wrapped in that styrofoam shit perfectly, so that is what it should look like.
