Help I gotta a question

For some reason I cant get my beat tracked out in Cubase LE4 with the MPC 1000 w/ JJOS2XL 1.09... I tried numerous ways of connecting it but no luck... I tried to put the MPC as a slave and then as master... No luck its recording and it triggers the MPC but no audio is being captured in the DAW. I have midi and I have audio (1/4 Jack) cables connected. Im not familiar with Cubase LE4 and need some directions as to how to get this to work.

MPC1000 w/ JJOS2XL 1.09
Midi Sync 1 (Slave)
Midi Time Code
MMC: On
Midi In going to Midi Out in Interface (Focusrite Saffire)
1/4" Audio cables going from my Assignable Outs to Line 1 & 2
Added an extra 8 Bars to lock the sync
BPM match Cubase LE4
Time is set the same on both MPC & Cubase LE4

Focusrite Saffire
Midi Out going to Midi In on the MPC 1000
MPC 1000 Assignable Outs (1/4") Audio cables are in Line 1 & 2

Cubase LE4
I have the BPMs Matching the MPC 1000
I set the Midi Time Code
Time is set the same on both MPC & Cubase LE4
Everything is set to my Saffire interface on Cubase LE4

But still no go.... Cant figure this out... Been dealing with this for 3 days and Im in limbo... Need help and read the manual for Cubase and that got me even more lost...lol Any help would be gradly appreciated thanks in advance...

a way to maybe check your connections, setup etc, would be to try it all set up for midi beat clock instead.

i get beat clock to work well, but didnt ever resolve midi time code issues.

this would allow you to track out yer mpc stuff. at the right tempo (the slave runs at the hosts tempo).

the only problem with beat clock is that it can drift in some circumstances - say if the host is looping a section (where it returns to an earlier part of the 'song' over and over)....the slave can't keep sync accurately in the loop as the host doesn't necessarily send that kind of info in the beat clock.

oh and often the very first tick is late, after receipt of the first tick - the slave should be on point. but obviously it cant be 'warned' by tome time traveling clock pulse......so a counter measure would be to add a blank bar at the start of any recordings.

Got It!!!! I had my midi cables disconnected from my interface like an idiot.... I forgot to plug them in when I was moving stuff around.
