I agree. Keygroups, effects automation, global program editing, and the key features of OS 2 are more important to worry about then upgrading the OS from a hard drive.

cant be... if they were, they would have been added in the beginning... not almost a year later... dont get me wrong, i want every feature that yall feel the need to add, please do so

on another note: you know usually, i just come on every once in a while, and peep the boards, but why is it you always gotta be defensive when someone makes a statement that other people agree with about what Akai could have possibly done to make a product better? I could have sworn this a feature request forum. But I guess since you are one of the middlemen, you do have to have your defenses up.

Askia Shaheed wrote:Why are you worrying about what I do? I paid for my MPC like everyone else. If you have a problem with that..send me a PM so when can handle it like gentlemen.

Im not worried about what you do, nor do i care about if you paid for your mpc on here like everyone else, or care how ours were bought, thats something you brought up about MPC being paid for. I just asked you straight up on here like a man, when you try to disrespect everyone elses ideas its ok for you. But im not even about to play these lil games with you like you try to with everyone else on here.

hey man, I know what you're saying... the man doesn't like people saying anything neutral or negative about the 5000... He was one of those first kats on the block with this machine and he now cant change his opinion on the machine so untill akai comes out with a new "flagship" machine that he will be first to cop..... dont pay him any mind when he protects the 5000 with everything he can type.

Just forget it man, dont bother hijacking the thread or else he will complain yet again that every good thread about the 5k gets ruined by people who dont own or didn't pay for the machine.

So far a lot of good ideas, and facts about existing features were mentioned in here so lets get some more...

It seems like you are letting your emotions get in the way. The only thing I did was suggest that you install a CF card to update an OS because it is easier than the hard drive. I wouldn't have said a thing if I knew someone would get bent out of shape over it. I didn't take anything the wrong way but it is obvious that you did (you being plural).

And you are correct..I was one of the first catz around here with the 2000XL, 4000, 2500, and 5000. And as long as Akai keeps making them, that won't change. And I will be right here talking about them.

As I said earlier..we can handle it like gentleman.

 you are the most emotional dude on this site... you the one thought it was a problem to consider being able to update the OS from the HD... Dude i been updating MPC's from Floppies since the 90's, i know how the it normally goes. this subject has become such a waste talkin to you... Is there anybody else that works with Akai that can respond reasonable enough to not let their sensitivity get in the way of a simple feature request

ditto that......
it seems as though AKAI's mass conumer BASE are the people over i the UK.
I'd love for them to give Mike and hanna (with their own staff, of course) Promote
the MPC5000 in the USA

I think mike is/was a big part of the mv's success.
Also, I think that he could be a viable assett to
Akai, helping them promote the mpc5000 in the US.
Just my Opinion. After all, he sold me on the MV8k, before I realized that it wasn't for me.
