I still don't get why you're so caught up in not being able to find original samples to use when you admit that your only sample sources are from blogs where people post records up for you. Of course you're not going to find original samples that way.
I know I don't own a record that nobody else owns. That's ridiculous.
But you can ask objectiv - I just sold him a crazy drum record that you can't buy even if you wanted to. I'm sure someone else has it, but the internet doesn't have it. None for sale or for download on your blogs.
And that's what makes it worth while.
I have def downloaded from blogs.... but when I find that record I buy it and it sounds ten times better. You can't account for that. Samples from vinyl sound warm and full not to mention it is so much more fun to find the vinyl and pull the sample yourself. You care about it more when you spend that much time with it.
And yeah he did sell me a pretty crazy drum record, but if I just downloaded it off a blog I never would have gotten to talk and get to know ssnedden... so not only did I get the record I made a friend and connect. Same with when I go digging. I know the dudes at the stores and they tell me info....
HOW DO YOU THINK ALL THOSE DOPE PRODUCERS KNOW WHERE ALL THE GOOD VINYL IS.
CONNECTIONS AND LOVE FOR THE VINYL.
