in a regular hip hop beat (4/4 time sig) bob your head to the beat. every 4 times you bob your head is one bar.

Yeah - u got your Time signiture which indicates howmany beats per bar.
ie. 3/4 - 3 beats per bar
4/4 - 4 " " "
5/4 - 5 " " "
ie. 3/4 - 3 beats per bar
