How to delete 1 program and samples for just that 1 program?

Hello,
Is there a way in jjos2xl that if say I have 4 programs with samples loaded according to their own program ,but want to remove 1 program and all of it's samples in that program only,is this possible?

If so how?

Go into PROGRAM mode. Select the program you want to delete, highlight it in the top left corner. WINDOW > Delete.

Oh, just realized this may be different in OS2xl, but in OS1 this is how its done.

Thank you but that does not delete the samples for that program,that only deletes the program,is there any way it would know to JUST delete the samples in that program only..

There is no direct way to do what you're asking.

The typical answer would be to delete the program, and then use the Purge sample function. But then, you will of course be deleting ALL unasigned samples, possibly others that were not in the program you wanted to get rid of.

The only work around that comes to mind would be to make a temporary program to hold all your unasigned samples, before doing the above.

This is the kind of update I'd like to see JJ do..My 4000 was able to do this,so it should be an easy thing to implement. JJ this would be a smart update. Purge will work for now,thanks for the help

Yeah, you can load program 'with samples' so it seems logical to be able to delete the program 'with samples'

the 'purge' function in the sample list enables you to delete from memory any unused samples (unused in programs - i'm not sure though if it would infact delete samples employed in the 'audio' type tracks....anyone got experience in that particular scenario?),

so if u delete the unwanted program, and then 'purge' will delete from memory the left over samples unused in any prog.

its your job to delete them off the CF/HD if youre not going to use them in that project again though. 'purge' only deletes from ram/memory, saving sample space etc....

Do it on your PC. or you could just TRIM the unwanted sample til it was using up almost no memory
