I got my MPC from craigslist last night and it came with drums. And the dude brought the drums on a CD. Does anyone know how to transfer them from the computer to my MPC? Please help me, I am only 13. Thanks.

Well, the MPC1000 uses a compact flash disk to hold samples, you will need to plug in your MPC via USB cable from the back of the mpc into your computer and you will need to drag the drum sounds from the CD to the compact flash drive.

When you plug in the mpc you will need to go to the "load" window and hit "USB" at least thats how I do it on the 2500.

If it doesn't have ahard drive, look into getting one for it and you can hold a ton of drums and samples without worry about space.

Man at 13 i was rapping in a group with no beats, LOL

My partners older brother was a DJ and had a beat machine, probably a 60 or an SP.

He was too busy and didn't think we were serious.

If I only knew then what I know now.

Keep grinding man and good luck.

13? thats good man. i was doing stupid ish at 13. learn the machine kid. dont get frustrated when something get difficult. read the manual, learn what the machine can do and what it cant do. learn the terminology. stay focused.

you are going to want to upgrade the memory, but you dont have to right now. learn the machine, then upgrade. theres a sticky thread about compatible ram.

good luck

Damn...I was just playing a TRUMPET in Jr. High band at 13  You're gonna be way ahead of the game if you start this young and stick with it.

Oh and you can certinaly LEARN on 16mb, but you're definitely gonna want the full 128mb. I bought mine on Newegg (found the specific info from that thread that was mentioned) and it cost me around $25 or $30 bucks or something.
