hi,
i´m having some problems when i´m combining hihats with kickdrums or basslines in the same program:
4 example i sampled a open hihat and a kickdrum from my fantom via spdif, checked the incoming velocity, recorded em - both sound great when i play them, no overdrive at all, BUT as soon as i start to play them together i get some kind of clipping or overdrive on the kick. it disappears when i lower the velocity of the kick, but the kick is way too low after....
seems like a hardwareproblem to me or could it be the OS version i´m using (akai 1.23)? or am i doing something wrong?

another problem i have is, when i´m recording a sequence, the recording will only playback the drumsamples but not the "mainsamples", even tho they are layered on the same pads and will play when i´m hitting the pads. kinda wierd to me.

any solutions?

greetings

If your using the sample multiple times from the same program it will clip, however I believe if you use another program on another track it will work fine.

thanks a lot for your help! i´ll work with different programs from now to record the sequences.

the program is set to poly but i switched some pads to mono. i wanna be able to play all my beatz live thats why i do the layering stuff. the clipping botheres me a lot.

does anybody around here know how i could work around this clippingthing? i´ve seen videos from guys like jel doin the exact same thing with their mpcs. but when i play 3 different samples at the same time i get this noise f*ckin up my sound :(

never had the problem with my 2kxl but i wasnt playing live so much, maybe thats why i never reconized it.

it must be possible to play more then 2 samples at the same time when playing live, i mean why does this mashine has 16pads? lol

hope i can find a solution for this. you guys with jjos having the same problem?

thanks again and greetz!

Shot in the dark here... Does it sound like phasing? The kick from the fantom may have been quietly layered with the same hat you chose.
