Q-link question

On my q-link slider I want to get the effect of a long sample being cutoff and on again like if I was using a mixer and crossfading back and forth. (like a stutter effect). My problem is I've tried with both realtime and note on with level at 0 to 120. but what I get is a fading effect instead of the desired effect.
what I want is the ahhh....ahhh.....ahhh....ahhh....ahhhh.

When ever I use the Q link I turn the quantize off...That should do the trick .....But you gotta be quik.

Also have you tried messing with the LFO.......That might be able to get the results you look for..........

if u want the classic 'transformer' cutting result, i'd go with the LFO advice, choose a square wav. but that'll give u pretty rigid chops, more like a rhythmic gated process.

OR u could set the layer to be the Aftertouch>layer xfade, and put the sample on only one layer, then press the pad on n off like the transform/cut buttons u find on good DJ mixers. in OS2XL that is.
