ok here it goes I would like some kind person to please give me exact steps to get that boom bap kind of swing feeling. I have just gotten a new mpc 1000 and I'm very excited about it's prospects. I have read the forum from
top to bottom (at least i tried) and what I found was that you guys don't like this kind of question, please forgive me for that but I promise I won't ask any more stupid ones. I've seen people throwing out different % here and there but people seem to get shot down by others for being to helpful. I'm studying my manual and will continue to do so but I would like a clear example of steps, that boom bap type of swing is really the sound I'm looking for and it will really help me alot while I learn the rest of the machine if I could just be able to hear it while I'm working on learning.
there is the swing type
the swing amount %
and the shift later or earlier.
on top of all of that there is whether you put the swing on all of the beat or just certain parts of the beat. so please help me out and I will return the favor when I've got enough knowledge under my belt. thanks for being cool in advance.

btw who are the girls on the forum
peace, kit

oh and it's fine to pm me too :)

OK. you know what swing and timing and timing are and seem to have an uderstanding of different ways to use them.

there aren't any magic numbers for these settings. a bit of playing around and see what sounds good will get you there.

Hello Kitty, welcome !

Check out this video on 'the feeling'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCKC-JdD ... re=related

Also you might want to have a look around in the 'Production Techniques' forum for threads discussing swing, quantize and and drum programming.

There are some girl's that post around here, but we need MORE

im not sure if you are saying that you think im a shmuck or that you think i haven't read the manual or that you dont like helping people but i think it would be strange if anyone came all the way down into the getting started forum and posted a response just to not help someone. i believe in studying the manual and i am doing so but i dont want to talk about this, i want to talk about my new instrument. and say thanks for those of you lookin out for the little fish.

def, i don't care how big your tits are - you're still a schmuck.

don't look in the 'getting started' section if you get so upset by questions from people getting started.
