Hard Drive - How can I tell?

Okay, I'm sure this question has ben asked numerous times, and I did an a search and found some information, but just not enough. I intalled a WD 160GB hard drive (free from a buddy-otherwise, I would not have gone that large, and probably with a different brand), and I know the hard drive capacity tops out at 80GB, 100GB, or 120GB, depending on some of the user's cooments here. I formatted the drive, pressed Mode-Pad 2-Utility to format the drive. I went back to Mode-Pad2 and scrolled to the Hard Drive to see what I had gained, but what it reads is Wave Free=116.6MB, Seq. Free=1352KB. Shouldn't it be reading in GB's? I know it probably won't read all 160GB's, but I thought it would read whatever the MPC's top out at in terms of memory. Any help would be great.

That 116MB is how much sample space you have on the RAM and the 1352KB is how much sequnce space you have on the RAM, not the harddrive. I forget how to check storage space capacity, but I will reply back with that once I am at my 2500.

Alright, just going into the main load screen will show your free space. Hit mode, pad 2, scroll to your harddrive and it should be right on top of Wave Free. But I am on JJOS 1. If you are using Akai OS, there may be a different way of checking this. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I currently have the Akai OS and it does have the Wave Free & the Seq Free information, but it does not show the hard drive space available. Anyone else know how to access this info with the Akai OS? Thanks.

I found out how it's done. For anyone interested in finding out how much hard drive space they have with the Akai OS here's what you do. Press Mode-Pad 2, scroll to Hard Disk. Then press save (even though you aren't saving anything) and it will show you how much free space is available in the root/hard drive. On another note, I installed a 160GB hard drive and it shows that I have 149GB free. Pretty impressive (not that I'll ever come close to using it all)! Thanks Hellfire for trying to help!
