DECAY is not working with the q link faders.

I love to put open hats on decay with the q slider to create a open and closed hat in real time..

I sure how Akai Fixes this next update!

The problems you are having are probably in the Program Menu. Take a look at your Amp Envelope for that high hat. If the sustain/release is set at 100, this will have an effect on using the Q-link to control decay in real time. Trying setting sustain and release to 0 and try your Q-links again. You should find that the decay works as it should.

Amp Envelope for that high hat.

I don`t see this anywhere in the program page.

Can you walk me through step by step..

See the prob in the q link is you can put the range to -100 its stuck at +0 to +100

It needs to be at -100 to +100 to open and close .

In the Program Menu, move the cursor to the Volume field and then press the lighted Window key. This will take you to that pad's Amp Envelope menu.

You are not giving too much detail so it is difficult to help you. Based upon this limited info, I assume your samples and your drums are not recorded at the same level. Or perhaps in the Program mode, you have different Level settings for your drums and your samples.

1. Make sure your samples are properly recorded. You can use normalize function when editing your sounds.
2. In Program Mode, you can set the volume of each sample and sample layer.
3. In Mixer Mode, you can set the volume of samples and the entire track if you choose.

I am not saying that your problem isn't there. I have not experienced the issue you are having so I offer the above suggestions.

I made 10-15 beats on this machine since i got it..ok.now i created new program sliced my samples recorded in track 1 and then i put my drums on pad blank b so started playing the track so i can see what kind a drum pattern to go with, and i couldn't hear my drums. Then i went to program mixer turn volume down on each pad that i previously assign my samples to,then i went back to track mixer i turn down volume on track 1 but volume remains the same.I think i might have to downgrade os 1.02 to 1.01 and then upgrade it again.

You don't have to downgrade to OS 1.01. But after you upgraded to OS 1.02, turn on your MPC while holding down the erase key to initialize your MPC.

It is hard to follow what you wrote. I need simple step by step way to produce your problem. Mixer volume settings would help as well as Program Sample volume levels.

Record a note - say c_2

Goto Grid Edit

Highlight the note and press _window_ to bring up the detail screen

Transpose the note (say to C#2)

press close

** the note isn't altered and stays at c_2 **

It seems to work fine with DRUM tracks but not MIDI tracks

annoying...

I was at my boys studio most of the day yesterday, and he got this same message I believe you are talking about, when i saw it, I started remember your post. It appeared that he kept getting it from his CF Card, im not sure if his card is bad, or what, but when i copied its CF Card from the computer to the HD, it started working fine.

Were you getting this from samples on the HD or the CF Card?

ubank...

did you format the CF card from the MPC before you started putting files to it? If not, this may be the problem... let me know
