SD-Cards - Different transferrates ?

I bought a sd-card-reader for my mpc2000xl. Now I'm searching for 2 GB sd-cards. I found some on a website over here in Switzerland, but with different transferrates. Does this matter or can the mpc2000xl read every sd-card as long as the size of the partition is correct?

im sure theres gonna be a lot of debate over this one,,but as a strong suggestion, i wouldnt go any higher than 1 gig,,a lot of people have problems over 1 gig including myself,,,,i now use 512mb cf's because i couldnt find 1gig anywhere local,,,,and i have 2 of them in wich only one of them is half full(due to not having every sample on earth)

if u can find 1gigs,go for it,if not,,please dont get anything over,you will run into problems,,

im using the xl also and for the first 3 days i owned it,i kept trying out a way to get my 2gig to work,including partioning and all that,,,i even went as far as deleting half the card as a last hope,to recieve nothing...and then i did the worst of all and formatted it in my mpc,and then my comp could no longer read it...

so i went and bought the 512's,,formatted in fat on my comp,inserted it in the mpc and voila,no time flat i was up and running......hope this helps!!

Just found a cf-card at home from my digitech jamman which works fine.

The transfer rates wouldn't matter so much if you're only going to save a max of 32 MB at a time in your MPC. But the 2000XL can only handle 1 GB partitions, so I guess cards of maximum of 1 GB are easiest to handle.

I found some 1 gb sansdisk compact flash cards on ebay.

I just got my card reader kit going and I formatted the 1 gig card in the MPC. I kind of had to. I couldn't save files on the card without formatting it and I dont have a compact flash reader for my computer yet.

the only problem now is when you insert it into the card reader for the computer it will be unreadable,,or at least this is what happened to me and a bunch of others..pretty much now only your mpc will be able to read that card because the way the mpc formats it,is in a way that the comp cant read it,,,but if your not going to use the comp for anything,then i wouldnt worry,,but if and when you get a card reader and there seems to be a problem with it reading your card,dont get upset and keep trying,,buy another card and try that,,,sorry for all the nonsense writing but i hope this helps...

Can I reformat the compact flash card if I order a usb card reader?

I can save the little work thats on there to my zip disk, reformat the compact flash card in the computer then reload the beats to the compact flash card right?

I work mainly with vinyl so it probably wont be an issue, just want to keep my options open.

when you get a card reader,chances are,it wont be able to recognize the card..
