the best thing about that MV8000 is that it allowed me to get real fluent on Sonar PE 3 4 & 5. with my FW1884 (because the MV8000 set on the shelf). I purchased when they went to 2.0 kept it thru 3.52. sold it as soon as the MPC5000 came out.
I DONT CARE WHAT THOSE PEOPLE OVER AT MVNATION SAYS, THE WORKFLOW ON
THAT MV8000 IS TERRIBLE. THE SEQUENCER SUCKS (and i consider myself a FLUENT musician). I've been using sequencers since the MMT-8 & the MV is the worst. Best sequencer that i've used (next to the MPC5000, which is now the BEST) was a program called TEXTURE which was a D OS program. maybe if i were in to Sampling & Chopping i may feel differently about the mv8000... but, i only sample one shots. the MV's Sequencer is the WORST sequencer in HISTORY..imo

the MPC5000 is the SHIT
Lemme guess.. you had issues with the timing?
I was obsessed with the mv. The sequencer was what did it for me. But after messing with the 5k for a couple of days... my love for the mv vanished.
The 5k is very intuitive and is not a bulky cash register like the 4k. I dont see how people can hate on it.
The only issue I ever had with it was trying to get my motif and 5k to communicate with each other correctly.
